It is in our nature to want to be portrayed in a good light. Even during a recession people spend huge amounts of money, often money they do not have, in order to appear wealthy to others. Communions and weddings are two occasions at which you will never see a sign of recession. These occasions are a chance to show off.

This constant thriving to be seen as having more or being better than others is a very shallow and superficial way of living. The continuous line drawing style of illustration used reflects the nature of the topic as the drawings have no depth to them either.
