ISTD Student Awards 2012

The International Society of Typographic Designers, ISTD, is a professional body run by and for typographers, graphic designers and educators. Membership is awarded to practicing designers, educators and students who demonstrate, through the quality of their work, their commitment to achieving the highest possible quality of visual communication.

The ISTD’s main education activity is the annual Student Assessment that offers students the opportunity to gain ISTD membership. The 2012 Student Assessment Awards event is taking place on Saturday 20th October as part of the TYPO London International Design Conference. Five graduating students of the Visual Communications course at the Limerick School of Art and Design LIT, will be receiving awards at the ceremony. The award winning students are in the company of students from some of the top art colleges and universities across the United Kingdom, the Middle East, South Africa and Australasia.

Two of the students Mick McCabe and Ida Kroon are being awarded for their submissions to the ISTD brief entitled ‘The Waitress’. Aengus Tukel, Aoife McKenna and Alina O’Shaughnessy are being awarded for their submissions to the ‘It happened on this Day’ ISTD brief.
